This is a well thought out design with many safety features. Fit and conformity to your hand is possible with the included back straps. Over 500 rounds and because of a limp wrist during a rapid firing sequence, had only one failure to eject. Holster fit is a little tricky but I found that the XD is fairly close and the Taurus will fit in the XD holster. I use a shoulder holster to wear under a vest for concealed and carry that was extremely tight but after working it in and out it is a perfect fit.
Cleaning is fairly straight forward and removal of the firing pin can be found in a video on the Internet for a more thorough cleaning.
The package Gander Mountain has with the laser light and flashlight combination, two magazines and Bulldog case is great for a home protection package.

A very good pistol with adjustable rear sights if needed is a Plus". I got the 9mm because I have a Beretta 40 90-Two another fine pistol. I've put about 300 rounds out of it with no problem's did not have to adjust the sights it was dead on. And I can't shoot that well so for me to hit bulls-eye @ 75' is a powerful 5 star rating from me...

I have heard many mixed comments and reviews for the G2 and decided to take the gamble and purchase one in 9mm. The dice were not in my favor. First, the guns overall construction is sloppy and rattles like a baby's toy. Second, the slide can, well most of the time, be difficult to remove. Third, Muzzle jump was high for a 9mm hindering accuracy. Last, after 94 rounds the G2 stopped functioning. The trigger still worked but would not engage the striker in neither single nor double action mode. Can't even remove the slide to see what the problem is. The ammo was winchester 115 gr. fmj target loads. I cannot speak for all G2s, but my particular specimen would make a good bookend.

I have been shooting hand guns for aprox 20 years, and this by far has been the best pistol I have ever shot. It is extremely lightweight for its size even with 18 rounds.(17 +1)I only had two jams the first time I shot it which is COMPLETELY NORMAL for the first time you shot any pistol due to the stiffness in the recoil spring and the excess oils from manufacturing. I just had it at the range today for the second time and shot 250 rounds through it without a single jam or miss fire.I would highly recommend this pistol to anyone beginner or advanced experience.

I bought the .45ACP version. Great pistol with lots of features.

Very nice ambidextrous design with the ability to decock the gun, engage the safety and release the clip from either side. It has nice ergonomics with thumb and index finger rests on both sides. The ribbed grip is very comfortable to hold, especially for large hands like mine. Taurus supplies two additional different sized grip backs so you can adjust the grip to your liking.

The Heckler & Koch type safety is nice in that you don't have to carry it holstered and cocked. Load the clip, insert it into the grip, chamber a round, push the lever down to uncock, push it up to make the pistol safe and secure it in your holster. The first trigger pull will be DA, then SA from then on until you run out of ammo or you decock it again.

The built in trigger safety helps ensure a dropped weapon will not accidently discharge. In addition the built in key lock makes sure it stays safe and secure from the untrained and naturally curious when not being used.

The front sight is fixed, but the rear sight is adjustable for both elevation and windage using the same key for locking and unlocking.

Nobody makes a holster specifically for this mode (yet). However, when paired with a Blackhawk Retention Holster #410507BK-R this combination is just about perfect. And yes, I know this holster is made for the Springfield XD Compact! It works as thought it were made for the G2.
