Bought this little jewel for concealed carry. I normally prefer revolvers but the tip up barrel convinced me. With the 8+1 load and accuracy of the lesser recoil I have no doubt it can provide what I need in any situation.

I have never been able to fire more than 2 consecutive rounds through this pistol. Bought it new here at GM with the ammo recommended by GM rep and when that ammo failed I tried...Read complete review

I have never been able to fire more than 2 consecutive rounds through this pistol. Bought it new here at GM with the ammo recommended by GM rep and when that ammo failed I tried two other brands with the same results. Used same ammo in my Ruger 10-22 with no trouble at all. The first round usually goes off, but the consecutive one is anyone's guess. Don't know if it's not seating right or if the problem lies elsewhere. Now I have to pursue warranty repair; not looking forward to that.

    I gave the Taurus 22 4 stars because of the tip up barrel. I bought this pistol for My Mother who has smaller & sore hands makeing it painfull for Her to operate a slide. The tip up barrel feature makes it a joy for Her to practice with it. Accuracy is nothing to brag about but Mom has no problem keeping Her shoots in center of mass area at 15-20ft. It is small enough that Mom can comfortably keep it with Her around the property durring the day & put it on the night stand next to Her bed in the evening. Any One looking to buy a Handgun for someone with small or authritic hands I would feel comfotable recomending this Taurus 22.

      I purchased this gun NEW on 3/2012 the next day I went to the gun range and tried it out click- click nothing the striking hammer only moved half way and it seems that something internal is not completely pulling the hammer back and slipping off. Trigger Problem?

      I bought this gun about 12 years ago,at the time i bought mine it had brown wood checkered handles on it. The gun jammed every other round i tried different types of ammo and still jammed up. I sent the gun back to taurus and about 60 days later they sent me a brand new gun with a letter inside stating ( that there was too many flaws for it to be fixed, they kept the gun to exam and fix all guns manufactured after that. They must have made me the (THE CREAM OF THE CROP). When i got my new one i shoot (CCI STINGERS) in it without any misfires,jams or any flaws of any kind. To this day this gun performs outstanding.

      have owned for 71 days 31 so far are back at taurus. Taurus does not listen to customers. fails to fire more than four in a row usually just one. casings stick in breach 22 cleaning brush gets stuck in barrell heavy lead buildup after 12 rounds. wish i had never bought it. Gander said would buy back but backed out
