Comments about Taurus Judge Tactical Handgun:
The judge is a great gun. Everyone who lives on a farm needs to own one. I bought this gun for protection from snakes when I'm walking outside in the dark or fishing. It will also be a self defense weapon I will keep by my bed and for protection to carry with me on trips. There are some draw backs to the gun I encountered. After I purchased the gun, I came home and fired 15 bullets (410 and 45 colts) through the gun. After firing every 3 shots my light would fall off and hit the ground. I started having to manually check it after every shot. I saw no damage caused by me with the clipping mechanism that holds the light on the rail. I thought it was just my luck until I read another review on this page and saw someone else with the same problem. I believe the spring clipping mechanism is not strong enough to lock it in place. I even made sure the light was securely locked in place by trying to pull it off the rail before shooting it and couldn't make it move. The kick is a little too much for the light to stay on. Also, after the 15 bullets I shot through the gun I noticed my red, plastic front sight was broke in half. I think it broke because it is made of plastic and the ports on the end of the barrel are right below it. I did not bump, hit, or knock the gun on anything. Besides the light falling off and the front sight breaking, I still love this gun. It's pretty impressive to shoot this gun at night and see the fire fly out of the end of it's ported barrel. I know if I ever have to defend myself it will do the job.

Comments about Taurus Judge Tactical Handgun:
This is a very SPECIFIC use weapon.
It is optimum in travel, in a vehicle-motel-hotel-hiking setting.
The user can load various rounds, shotshell to .45 based upon the setting and distance needed to defend against a attack. It is possible, based upon the stature of the owner, to carry under a coat/jacket/shirt. Various holsters are coming on the market. It suits my purpose very well.
As a CCW in summer, it may prove to be too large for some people based upon the apparel worn and the build of the holder. A more "compact" handgun may prove to be a great 2nd weapon to have with the Judge.
The FM brand laser is NOT worth getting!
Taurus has a LIFETIME warranty on the gun, but NOT the add-on FM Laser. If you buy the pkg. (gun and laser/Light) PURCHASE the Gander Mtn. Warranty and let them handle the return to the distributor of the FM laser! It will be easier.
Mine came loose while shooting .45 loads, fell to the concrete floor of the range and broke the battery cover.
Apparently, the pressure/compression hold system of the laser/tactical light to the Picatenny Rail does not offer a good FIRM hold. BUT, I must add, after researching and locating the distributor of the FM Laser, and calling them, they did send another replacement (free of charge) AFTER I shipped mine with an explanation. I tried that one and same thing it falls off the rail and does not maintain the grip on the rail during .45 loads! But in that situation I was prepared and cushioned it's fall. I immediately stored it.
Also, the pressure power button is on the end of the loose cord so YOU need to fasten it somehow to the revolver. I used a rubber band - how cheap is that?!
You might wish to buy ONLY THE Judge w/o this poor, cheaply built, tactical light-Laser combo. There are better quality Laser/Tactical Light systems available.
The Judge is great! Here comes da Judge.

Comments about Taurus Judge Tactical Handgun:
This is a fun gun to shoot. The only downside is that ammo is very expensive to shoot. I wish I had gotten a bobbed hammer so It was easier to conceal carry. Shooting .410 bore and 45 long colt seems like it would put a hurtin on your wrist but I found it to be fairly easy on recoil, even less recoil than my semi auto 9mm. If you want a fun inexpensive gun to shoot, I highly recommend it.
