Comments about Taurus Judge Public Defender Polymer Handgun:
My wife and I can both use this weapon if we have too. Since it would be used at home, in a conflict less than 10 to 20 feet away, the shotgun pattern compensates for the darkness and the short targeting time.

Comments about Taurus Judge Public Defender Polymer Handgun:
I purchased this handgun for home defense and hiking. I also bought a shoulder rig for carry while hiking. I have tried various loads and like the Winchester PDX1 for personal defense I have used Federal #8 for snakes and Federal buck shot on the range (at 30 ft # 8 covers a 1 ft square target). I also like .45 Magnatech cowboy loads on the range. The gun is easy to handle, but has a pretty good recoil with the .410. My wife can handle the .45, but has a problem with the .410s.

Comments about Taurus Judge Public Defender Polymer Handgun:
I bought this product for added peace of mind while hiking in black bear country. This gun is lightweight, and the 45lc rounds are pretty accurate coming out of its 2" barrel. The 410 shells are another story. The rifling of the barrel limits the effective range of 410 ammo you can use for it. I highly recommend the Federal Premium 410 handgun .000 buckshot rounds. For a more in-depth look at this gun, including a couple of shot tests/patterning shots, check out the video overview I created for it on YouTube at... http://youtu.be/G6B7SGH2fuI
This video will give you an idea on how this gun acts in the hands of a novice handgun shooter.
My only complaint at first is that the grip is a little short in my hand, but I am a fairly big guy.

Comments about Taurus Judge Public Defender Polymer Handgun:
Bought a judge public defender poly on March 23rd. approximately 125 rds shot total. They were a combo of 45 colt and 410 birdshot. Top broke entirely in half right in front of the cylinder. Nothing but factory rounds shot through it and no hot loads. Kind of scary and thank God no injuries from this.

Comments about Taurus Judge Public Defender Polymer Handgun:
This is turning out to be quite a surprise to me. It's light weight and far more accurate than I expected at self defense distances. A good concealed carry option. Just be careful about your ammunition choices. Federal 000 buckshot or any FMJ .45 long colt round will do.
