Comments about StrikeMaster Lazer Mag 2.5HP Power Auger, 7":

I purchased this auger to replace my 28yr old magnum 3 auger. This thing is all plastic and I mean ALL plastic. It even has a plastic guard over the muffler that gets hot. The handles and all. I don't care for the handles they flex if you push at all on them and I don't think they will last. The year I purchased it had problems, it would drill 1 or 2 holes then lost power and died. I discovered that I have to run it with a loose gas cap. Then I replaced the cord on the recoil because I would always hit the end of the rope each time I pulled it to start. At 6'2" tall and arm length to match I have a long pull. I followed the instructions on the web sight on starting but the rope is just too short. So I replaced it and as the story goes 6" made all the difference. Now this year I gassed it up to find that a rubber plug in the side of the gas tank is puking gas all over the place. I can only fill it up to ¼ tank with out spilling gas all over my self. Its the fuel pick up out of the tank.. I followed the storage instructions by running all the gas out of it for summer but man this sucks. Now I'm looking for a contact phone number to the company and they don't want to hear from their customers and all I can find is an email.. I hope they respond or I'm going to go buy something else soon!
