The light was easy to install and worked great for the first couple of hours. It is really bright. After several hours of use it died. I since tried replacing the bulb, which did not work and then tried other lights in the base and they worked fine. The wiring in the telescoping part is garbage.

I have a Crownline LPX and my stern light came out and sank in the lake. Will this light fit in existing plug? Or will I have to install a new plug insert for the light to fit?

What is the shape of the base? Does it use screws to attach? How big of a hole is required in the boat? What are the screw locations if screws are used?

                Rectangle
                2 screws
We were able to use the telescoping light in existing base. But kept base if original goes bad. Just stick in and go. Our base is circular but the rectangular base will work when it goes bad.

Sure, these are not application specific though, so actually any stern light can be mounted on any boat if installed correctly

This light operates on 12 volt DC. I have mine wired directly to the marine battery that starts my boat motor and runs my trolling motor. So the answer to your question is yes, but it will not run off a couple of flashlight batteries if that is what you were thinking.
