Introduced in 1947, the Stevens Model 325 was designed as an economical hunting rifle that would handle cartridges in the 35,000 PSI range. The 325 was designed to fire .30-30 caliber rounds only. The bolt handle is a butter-knife style design that bears a similarity to a European Manlicher bolt. The locking bolt head utilizes one forward locking lug & a top guide rib. This bold head has a milled slot in the lower left-hand quarter to allow the ejector to clear the extractor and eject the case at full rearward movement of the bolt. The receiver is slotted thru the rear bridge like a Mannlicher and the barrel is threaded into a recoil lug that butts against the receiver front for stability. This dependable bolt-action rifle features a Weaver side-mount scope base and rings and a 2-position safety. Its wood and metal are in fair condition and its bore is in good condition.
