Comments about Savage Arms Stevens Model 200 Short Action Centerfire Rifle:

I use this rifle to hunt white tail in upstate NY. The .308 can push through some brush and remain accurate at out to 400 yards. This gun is a workhourse. The free floating barrel makes it more accurate than some of my budddies much more expensive make and models. But Savage is known for accuracy and this gun sticks to the script. It is light and easy to move around with. Simple to maintain. I may want a fancier rifle but this baby is all I will ever need. Three years and three bucks so far.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
