Q:Is this camera waterproof? Can I mount it to a tree? Is it triggered by motion? I want to use it for security purposes on my property and to keep out tresspassers.Asked on 4/28/2012 by Heather from Charleston, WV
A:Hi, Heather To answer your question, waterproof yes for normal outdoor use but not to be submerged in water or other liquid. Make sure that both of the latches are latched or it may not seal properly. It is triggered by motion using a PIR (passive infrared detector). Yes, it mounts to a tree using an adjustable strap which is included with the camera. The 8MP resolution of the Unit Opps camera makes it a good choice to catch tresspassers. Make sure to select the 3 star/ PIR setting when going through menu options. That setting will give you the best photo quality but you will sacrafice some battery life. I get pictures of vehicles and the image is so good that I can read the license plate number (daytime only) without even using the zoom function. Just put the SD card from the Unit Opps camera into a good digital camera that has a zoom function while viewing. Tresspassers are criminals so be sure to conceal the camera well or they will steal it. Good luck with your surveillance!Answered on 7/2/2013 by Norm from Chambersburg, Pa.
