Q:locking slam latch. does this mean that it can be locked with a key?Asked on 8/31/2009 by Chucker from Sacramento, CA
A:The slam lock does not have a key. You have to lift the latch and turn it to "unlock" it. Then when you turn it back in to position to close it is is then "locked".Answered on 9/3/2009 by Chad @ Overton's from Greenville, NC

Q:the description is a locking latch while the photo shows no key provisions ?Asked on 7/24/2009 by gene from mi.
A:There are several versions of this item that whitecap makes but they only give us one picture to give you a good idea of what it looks like. You are correct though this is a picture of the nonlocking latch, but we do stock the locking slam latch, which is this item, and it will come with keys to lock it with. Here is the supplier's advertisement for the locking and the non-locking latches. They use the same picture for both as well.
