Great little safe for securing a handgun at home or complying with travel restrictions on firearms in a vehicle if not licensed in a state.

The safe will disable the electronic keypad after three wrong tries - must open with key and reset. Great feature if you have children that like pushing buttons... I've had it for two years now and still haven't changed the batteries.

I travel to pistol competitions up and down the east coast - no officer can honestly say I didn't secure my firearm in the vehicle with it. Very easy to mount in a trunk.

Only caveats - Take the keys and drill a hole in the metal in the top of the key to attach to your keyring - the plastic loop breaks fairly easily and can get lost quickly. The padding isn't adequate inside - find some 1/4" or slightly thicker foam (at least three), cut into sizes that fit the inside of the safe, and put the pistol between them. Add foam layers so it gets held in place and won't bang around inside the safe when picked up!

Would highly recommend this to a friend - and I'm taking my own advice and getting a second one for my other vehicle. For the price you can't go wrong.

                    A:

The lid opens by the turn of a knob to release bolts, and then just lift door by another knob (no springs). There are two holes in the bottom of the box. You can screw or bolt from the inside, out. Would need heavy duty anchors, or mount vertically to stud, seeing as how the box isn't 16 inches long (stud spacing).

Hi Sara, you need to remove the silver plastic piece that says Stack-On on the top of the safe. It's to the left of the key pad. I just used my nails and it pops off, but you could also use a small flat head screw driver if you can't get it. Hope that helps, Kelly

It might, but probably not without them touching or overlapping. Would probably make it difficult to get them out quickly too. A handgun and cash (like shown) fits well, though.
