Product Description
springfield_marine This unique Taper-Lock pedestal system allows a pedestal to be removed from its base and yet remain firmly in place when required. The slightly tapered Delrin bushing allows the pedestal to fit snugly yet disengage as needed. Locking tab helps prevent the pedestal from turning and keeps it firmly secured. By removing the pedestal, Taper-Lock becomes a "Hi-Lo" system which allows the seat to be used down in the lower position while the boat is under way. Post adjusts from 13-1/2" to 20".

Comments about Springfield Taper-Lock™ Power Rise Post with Locking Handle:

I had ordered this pedistal earlier and it seemed to be ok, Then I ordered another and when I installed it, it seamed that the swivel where you mount the seat seemed to be mounted a little crooked as you turn the seat. I sent that one back and ordered a different one. When I got that one it seemed to be the same way so sent that one back also. Then I called the Springfield office and they explained to me that the pedistals are made with a slight tilt, so I ordered another one and mounted it and will keep it. Wish I had called Springfield when I received the second one... (so far no problem with the returns) THANKS TO OVERTONS

I needed a pedestal that I could move. I purchased a base and this pedestal, and now this is the best seat in the boat. (I will be purchasing another one). The base and pedestal were easy to install.

I needed an adjustable seat for my elderly father-in-law.The standard height seat was too low for him, making it very difficult for him to get out of the seat. With the new adjustable power rise post he can now easily get out of the seat without needing help.

Comments about Springfield Taper-Lock™ Power Rise Post with Locking Handle:

I bought my 27' Trophy boat almost two years ago and it had two rear seats in it with these power posts. I have an older friend I take out halibut fishing off of the Pacific Coast here in Washington State. We run anywhere from 30-45 miles offshore. This season is in May, when the water is usually not good. Big swells and wind is the normal. These rear seat posts when unclamped give an airride on those seats. I just replaced them with new ones. The old ones still worked fine but have no idea how old they are.

Without these seat posts, I doubt my buddy could go. They sure provide a soft ride. I wish I had known about them back when I use to pound my way out in my old 20' boat. These are the greatest and are underadvertised. Had they not been on my boat I would not have even known they existed.

I would not go without them. When we cross the long nasty bar at Westport, those are the most comfortable seats in the boat. I have had threats of guys liking them so much that they are going to take them with them when they leave!

Not sure what my base type is, it's about 9" in diameter and has a black piece in the center with a slot on one edge. Will this work with this base?

We can not confirm that this pedestal will work in your existing base without knowing the brand of the base........Maybe it works or maybe not. See if there are any markings anywhere on the base even underneath.
