The Model 1884 was a modification of the Model 1873 Trapdoor, the first standard-issued breach-loading rifle for the United States Army. It features Springfield's signature hinged breechblock and a serrated trigger. This 1889-manufactured rifle has a post front sight with an adjustable rear sight and a still visible cartouche. Its wood and bore are in fair condition and its model is in good condition.
