Comments about SportDOG YardTrainer 105S Electronic Dog Trainer for Stubborn Dogs:
Used this to Obedience train my mastiff pup starting around 4 months old. Still using this well after a year of age. The dog hardly ever uses a leash anymore and there is never really a need to shock, he hears the beep and its enough for him to know what comes next. The only downfall is the watch batteries. I use this every time she goes outside which is multiple times and the batteries last about 2 months at a time. I bought them in bulk on Amazon to save some money. You could spend $40-$50 and get the field trainer that will recharge, I didn't find this to be necessary.

This product was awful. We owned it for one week and changed the batteries three times. We always turned it off when the dog came in the house so it was not continually on eating the batteries away. Brought the item back to the store [...]. Never again.

Comments about SportDOG YardTrainer 105S Electronic Dog Trainer for Stubborn Dogs:
Ive Owned A lot Of These Shock Collars Due To The Fact That My Dog Is Deaf And We Use It Daily. So For And Him Its Very Important That We Have A Reliable Collar. This By Far Is The Best One Ive Owned Not Only Is The Receiver Waterproof But So Is The Transmitter. Great Idea Guys... Also On The Remote It Self The Secondary Button Gives A Shock 2 Levels Higher For A Quick Shock At A Higher Level Without Fussing With The Remote... Another Great Idea... I Would Recommend This To Any Dog Owner Who Is Responsible Enough To Read And Follow The Proper Instructions On Using This Product On Your Dog... If You Use It Correctly It Will Be Seen As A Positive Tool By The Dog Not A Negative, And It Will Work On Your Dog If Your Looking For An Attitude Check...

Comments about SportDOG YardTrainer 105S Electronic Dog Trainer for Stubborn Dogs:
We have a coonhound, she's stubborn but good natured. Our trainer suggested we try an electronic training device as a reinforcement. This training collar works well for it's intended purpose, which is close range, household/yard use. The correction stimulus levels seem adequate, as our intention is not to hurt our dog, just get her attention and reinforce training.
The instructions indicated that the battery life could be up to six months. So far we've had it three weeks and replaced the batteries four times. They last 5-6 days, max, and that is with light usage. A little disappointing. We are considering returning it.
Service and delivery comments:
I found this product at a discount price on Gander Mtn. online. I contacted our local store, Castleton, Ind., to see if they had it in stock and was informed that they did not, so I placed the order online. The online price was $10 less than it was supposed to be in-store. We wanted it in time for our Christmas celebrations to help remind our dog that snatching food off the counter is not acceptable behavior (again, our trainer suggested this might work better than the squirt bottle that was having no effect whatsoever on our loveable stubborn dog) so I requested two-day delivery to our local store, which was $20. When I went to pick up my order, I noticed that they had several of these in stock. I could have driven the 30 miles to our local store and purchased it two days earlier and saved $10 in the process, had the store been honest with me when I called and asked if they had it in stock.
