we used 3 other collars and returned them all. after the first use with the collar we were very satisfied and i have never had to use the shock function, she responds to the tone function right away. perfect , just perfect, she is a very stubborn pup with limited focus. except if you're a bird. lol

My dog loves to run and usually stays close to me on dirt roads while I ride a quad.
But she can have a mind of her own. Living in an orchard this poses problems. She will cut through the orchard while I have to go around. If she gets 50 yards away it doesn't work.
She is a small dog so I set it at a lower power but if I set the power up a couple settings to compensate for distance it's too much.
Good for basic training commands: sit, stay, heal, but not come.
Had to get a more durable collar because the one it comes with is cheap nylon and doesn't stay tight as it should. Could be part of the reason it doesn't work at longer distances.

I have a Husky, which is a very dominant, strong, crazy dog. Nothing could get her under control before this. Now, when she climbs on a countertop to eat things, or chews the furniture, I give her a tiny zap and BANG!, she stops....Now we are working on yard perimiter and this also is working. I highly recommend it!!

- Barking Black Lab
Comments about SportDOG® YardTrainer 105 Remote Dog Trainer:
I have a barking black lab that I finally had enough of. Purchased this collar, not a big fan of using a shock collar however the tone warning proves to be very useful only had to shock handfull of times, now the tone stops her. So far haven't found any negitives just likes right now. Wish I would have purchased this a couple years ago.

Comments about SportDOG® YardTrainer 105 Remote Dog Trainer:
I am an elderly widow who adopted a very active, young dog. She had had no training and would not obey any commands. I was hesitant to order a "shock" collar but was desperate. I'm so pleased to now have a well behaved companion. I only use the tone to get her attention and a mild shock as a last resort.

Comments about SportDOG® YardTrainer 105 Remote Dog Trainer:
We rescued a small dog at the humane society. She was not house trained and would not stay around when let outside. We were a little hesitant about using a shock collar but she learned real quick what the rules are at her new house. With the 8 different settings, we don't have to give her a large shock. Just barely enough to get her attention.

Q:
Good day, I have a 12 week old boxer. Her weight is approxametly 14 1/2 lbs. Is this product ok to use on her? I have read that shocks collars shouldn't be used until you pup is at least 4 months. I do not want to torment her in any way. I want to use this collar to train her our home boundries, we have no fences. She is never out side unless someone is with her.
Thanks for your time.
