Purchased this spreader for a very small private road association to be used occassionally to spread traction grit. Currently spreading "poultry grit" which is a small pebble-like crushed granite. Material is much heavier than others so it doesn't spread quite as well as I'm sure seed or another type of lighter material would. But, so far is working just fine on the occassion that we have to use it on a couple hills that can get very icey at certain times of the year. a single pass going each way seems to do the trick. Havent' used it much yet but see no reason why this unit won't last long & do the work we need for several years.
Plan to use it for "food plots" soon!
simple & hardy construction for the price & unless you are using corrosive material like salt, etc then I don't see an issue w/ wear, etc.
For some, the instructions may not be enough. Improvement is needed in that area especially if you are not mechanically inclined.
Using it behind my Pickup in the trailer reciever. easy to hookup, etc but hard to move around, store, etc if left w/ more than about 25 lbs of material in it. I've got 100 in it now & not looking forward to having to hook that back up.
nice product either way.

I've ran this spreaders for 2 years spreading ice melt. It's Great when it works right. crackes really easy. The spiner and spring gum up really bad. The motors don't last for anything. one day spreading ice melt. i had to replce the motor on it 3 time to get a total of 200lbs spread. That was on the second spreader. The company will not return your phone calls or emails. so basicly no warrnty. over the last 2 years I ran through 5 motors. thinking i just got as bad one. then it was just trying to get through the season.
