Just what I needed.
Just moved to cold climate from warm climate. Could not go out without these boots. I walk every day in these boots and my feet are warm and dry.

These boots were so uncomfortable for me - they have no interior support for your feet - just a very flat, roomy inside... which made my feet hurt without any arch support and just too wide. Plus they are so very heavy and they are not flexible at all. I just think they are so cute I wanted them to work! I tried insoles and finally gave up.

Comments about Sorel Women's Joan of Arctic 12" Winter Boots:
I absolutely love these boots. They are great for playing outside with the dogs and for walks through the woods. They are slightly stiff but I find that can be alleviated by loosening the laces. I really like the Hawk brown color. They are very comfortable and cozy warm (I am always chilled). I am so happy with these boots. Great gift from my husband!

Comments about Sorel Women's Joan of Arctic 12" Winter Boots:
These boots are awesome. I live in northern Wisconsin, so needless to say, good, warm boots are a must if you're going to live here and be remotely comfortable in the wintertime.
When I first tried them on, I was a little concerned. It seemed like they were cutting into the backs of my legs and were difficult to get on because they were a bit tight and stiff. But I can tell you--and anyone else who finds them uncomfortable at first--that they do break in and loosen up quickly. I found them to be extremely comfortable after a couple days of wear. Getting the leather wet would help with this process, I'm sure.
I can say that I am normally a size 6 1/2 Wide, and I had to go up to a 7...not because they weren't wide enough, but because they weren't long enough. So keep that in mind.
I have worn these in deep snow and also out ice fishing with my husband. My feet didn't get cold at all, and even though I was trudging through some slush, my feet stayed completely dry.
I got the Taffy/Port Royale, and I get so many compliments on them. I had considered getting the Hawk colors, but I already have some black and brown boots. The Taffy/PR looks awesome with jeans...very complimentary.
All-in-all, I'm happy that I could find a high-quality boot at a reasonable price that actually functions as it should and is super-cute, besides!

Comments about Sorel Women's Joan of Arctic 12" Winter Boots:
I love these boots! I did a lot of research before purchasing these boots. I looked at several different boots, read reviews online, compared prices and tried on different styles. I've never read so many positive reviews on any product before. I've worn them myself now and would have to agree with everything I've read. They are stylish, warm and comfortable. I purchased my regular shoe size even though I had read they run big. I have to say they are a little wide/loose in the foot area (the only thing that kept me from giving them 5 stars) but a thicker sock would fix that. I had also read they were difficult to drive in, but I think they just take a little getting used to. Overall, these are amazing boots and I look forward to spending many hours outside in the snow with my children.

Q:
My wife wants a pair of these. Would these be good for fishing on the ice? They're rated to -40°F, according to the specs, but there is no thinsulate. She has a pair with 800 grams, and her feet still get cold. Why are these rated so low?Asked on 12/5/2008 by Posh from Paynesville, MN0 answers
