I'm not sure where the "Plastic melts in salt water" came from. We use plastic in Florida all the time on boats and yachts with no problem. Besides, boat isn't plastic, It's PVC and 500-denier fabric, both used extensively in salt water.Answered on 1/18/2013 by Capt Steve from Boca Raton, FLA:
