I use my grill more than 3 times a week for everything!I like that it has the drawers in the bottom that make cleaning easy.My favorite thing to cook on this grill is smoked brisket.I have made seared steaks, hamburgers, BBQ chicken, smoked salmon and MORE.And everything turned out better than with ANY other grill I've used! The only thing i think would make this grill better is a water pan. I Love This Grill! You Will TOO!!!

I thought this was gonna be the grill to blow all others out of the water- my husband wanted this so bad, so I bought it for his birthday in May....a few weeks ago he was burning off the left over residue of the meat we cooked as he does to keep the grill clean and he went out and all the knobs were on the ground, they actually melted off...and now it is hard to turn the bbq on. That should not happen with a BBQ- I was soooooo disappointed- we were replacing a disappointment of a bbq we had for 4 years prior, but at least that one still has working knobs.

I removed the notches from the lid to eliminate smoke from escaping, for a better smoking effect.
      I often bake with it!!

      Comments about Smoke Hollow Tri-Mate Model 47180T Gas/Charcoal Grill/Smoker:

I just received my Smoke Hollow 4 in to 1 grill Wednesday as a gift. After sealing off the areas(with JB well) where the smoke would escape, I grilled and smoked all day Saturday and Sunday. I must say, I really enjoy this grill. Set up was really straight forward, with easy to follow instructions, 1 screw driver and 1 wrench was all that was needed to complete the assembliy. I smoke baby back ribs and chicken, and it all went off without a hitch. I made modifications I saw on the internet, like adding the metal flash to the smokestack to lenthen it, JB welding all of the corners and tacked welded area, to keep the smoke in, I plan to add the NOmex filter system this weekend, to really maximize smoke flavor.

However, the wall of the grill,is thinner that aother grill I've owned.. All in all I would recommend this grill. I gave it 4 out of 5 stars, I deducted 1 for the very thin walls.

        Comments about Smoke Hollow Tri-Mate Model 47180T Gas/Charcoal Grill/Smoker:

This is not a good grill. When I bought it I was very excited due to its dual function. Assembly was easy. After using it a couple of times it started to rust. After one year the burners fell of their support as they rusted. I have the grill outdoors and have it covered.
Poor construction quality. Save yourself some pain and don't buy it.

          Comments about Smoke Hollow Tri-Mate Model 47180T Gas/Charcoal Grill/Smoker:

My Wife and Purchased this grill in April 2011. We have used it (even in the Buffalo, NY winter) average 4 times a week. Lets start off with what an amazing cooking platform this is! You can Seer, Boil, Smoke, and Cook all at the same time! The lids are sturdier than most grills now-a-days! The temperature gauges are accurate to within a few degrees, and when people come over and see it the first time; "What does that thing do?" is the first response! Now, lets get to the Negatives. I am very organized, so at night I like to put my patio furniture (and Grill) away in the garage. From rolling it in a night the casters have broken off, OK Understandable for a couple hundred trips to garage. Propane holder is a horrible design, without a zip tie, it pops right off, an tank falls away from grill (stretching the gas line). As noted in other reviews, charcoal basket too widely spaced, also firebox needs a grate for charcoal, came with a holder for logs. and finally, There is absolutely nowhere to put your your cooking utensils. Not even 1 hook, so If your cooking on all the surfaces your tongs have to hang on the handle (Drips grease on front of grill) or remain in your hand. So Bottom line, great grill, if your a light BBQ'r , heaver cooking: You'll need to do a little work to keep this unit user friendly!
