When i first took this gun to the shooting range i was very disappointed when i shot 10 consecutive rounds at the bottom of my target. I used some brass shims to lift the back site to correct shooting angle and now i can have a 3 in. spread from about 25 yards. Would be a great gun if it had the adjustable sites.

I use to own a Ruger KP-95 9mm and I really wanted a new inexpensive handgun. Gander ran this on sale for [$] + tax so I bought it. I use this as Home Protection and target practice at the range. I like the overall feel, appearance and balance of the gun however the magazine follower in both Mags stick on last round causing a misfire and not locking slide back. The 10 pound trigger pull is terrible, talk about carpal tunnel. And all the reviews I read about the gun said it came in a nice hard plastic case ....... [...] ...... really for a $300-$400 gun they should give you the S&W case ...... Oh Well I should have kept my Ruger or bought a GLOCK G19 or G26 Bottom Line: Would I recommend this Hand Gun Yes and No Remeber you get what you pay for

Comments about Smith & Wesson Smith & Wesson Sigma 9VE Handgun:

This is a terrific handgun despite what all the internet (non-owner) reviewers say. It eats any ammunition (even remington umc) and is accurate right out of the box. Easy field stripping makes cleaning it a breeze. The trigger is a little heavy as this is the safety feature (prevents accidental discharge)
I would highly recommend this pistol for anyone looking for a home defense weapon

For the price I don't think you could do better. Gun is a little on the big side for concealed carry, but the ergonomics are great,it feels really good in the hand.I have put 200 rounds with 3 different types of ammo and have had no problems, every shot did what it was supposed to do.

Comments about Smith & Wesson Smith & Wesson Sigma 9VE Handgun:

I bought this gun on sale for [$] from Gander Mtn and I have shot approx 500 rounds through this handgun thus far and have had absolutely no FTE's, FTF's or any other issues whatsoever. The grip is fantastic and very comfortable compared to other handgun grips out there. I also love that it is a natural pointer unlike that of the Glock which for me has always been a little awkward to point. Recoil IS better than a Glock 19 and has less muzzle flip. Accuracy is good and I'm sure more than I am capable of. First 100 rounds though, the accuracy was not good. Not sure if that was the gun break in period or myself getting used to the anvil trigger pull. Now, the trigger is heavy but it isn't gritty and it does break clean after an average take up. This is where the Glock wins hands down as they have a fantastic tigger compared to the Sigma's very heavy trigger pull. After that though the gun started hitting within 3" POA at 10 yards. I'm no handgun expert so I am sure it'll shoot more accurately than that. Field stripping is a breeze and identical to a Glock. This gun is a blast to shoot and has eaten everything from Tula ammo, Federal FMJ, Hollow points, Winchester, Blazer, and more without a single issue. Overall, this is a nice, solid, reliable gun and I'm sure the trigger will lighten with more use, and you do get used to it the more you shoot. Look on the bright side, after shooting a few mags through the Sigma at the range any other semi auto will feel like it has a 3lb competition trigger! Also the S&W Lifetime warranty is another pro and there customer ssevice is also very good and reputable. Honestly, for the money, this can't be beat! Unless you want a DA/SA, then a Ruger P95 is close.

              • A:

These pistols have no decocking lever. They operate on the same principal as the glock does. They do not "engage" untill the last few milimeters of trigger pull and the trigger must be pulled thru the entire travel of trigger to engage the striker and fire. Just like the Glock these pistols are striker fired.
