Comments about Smith & Wesson Smith & Wesson SD9 VE Handgun:

The one big gripe some people have about this gun is the trigger pull. Yes, it's long and a bit heavy (though it will loosen up a bit after a lot of use (there's also a spring kit you can get that will reduce pull weight)) but here's the thing about the trigger... It's good! It's smooth and consistent and can be described as a "self defense" trigger, hence the "SD" in the gun's name.

The other thing some people don't like about this gun are the plastic white-painted sights, though there's nothing really WRONG with them, they are kinda cheap-looking. Sights from the M&P will work if you want to spend the money to upgrade.

CONCLUSION: If you are used to buying more expensive handguns, the trigger and painted sights will be a turn-off but if you are on a budget, want a gun for home defense that's accurate, reliable and fun to shoot at the range, this is the gun for you! Smith & Wesson hit a home run with this gun, in my opinion!

Comments about Smith & Wesson Smith & Wesson SD9 VE Handgun:

I bought this for self protection and for shooting at the range. it is very easy to take apart and clean. The magazines are a little hard to fill, you really need a speed loader.

Comments about Smith & Wesson Smith & Wesson SD9 VE Handgun:

I've had this pistol for a little over a year and I absolutely love it. I'd say I've had close to 2500 rounds through it and it functions very well. The trigger is heavy at a little above 8lbs., but the springs will loosen up some over time/ usage. I did however, add an apex spring upgrade dropping the trigger pull to just over 5lbs. Ive fed it dirty brass and it keeps chugging. I think I've only had about a handful of jams. Overall, this is a great firearm to own. And just like any other tool, keep it clean and it will keep you cool.
