The 3953 is the double-action-only variant of one of Smith & Wesson's best-selling compact pistols in the Third Generation series, the 3913. The 3953 and other pistols in the 3900 line are among the smallest of the police-grade 9x19mm semi-automatic handguns available today. The 3953's slide is finished in a uniform, brushed stainless steel that is not glaringly bright and the frame is a slightly darker color than the slide with an anodized black trigger and hammer, which adds a nice color contrast to the gun. Known as one of the most reliable of police-grade pistols, the 3953 extracts and ejects flawlessly. The ejection port is flared and the magazine well also has a slight flare to facilitate reloads. The trigger guard is rounded but has serrations on the front for those who like to place their non-shooting hand finger there. This pistol features Novak 3-dot sights and an 8-round magazine. Its grips, its metal and its bore are all in good condition.
