Originally known as the Registered Magnum, the Model 27 was the original .357 magnum revolver. Built on Smith & Wesson's large N-Frame, the Model 27 is noted for its durability and reliability. The feature that really sets the Model 27 apart from other N-Frames is the fine checkering along the topstrap and barrel rib, done to reduce glare. The Model 27-9 has a 6.5-inch barrel with a pinned, Patridge front-sight blade, and the adjustable micrometer rear-sight blade has a thin white outline. Like all new S&Ws, the firing pin is mounted internally and not on the hammer and an internal safety lock makes the 27-9 more secure than its classic counterparts. This double-action revolver features checkered wooden grips with Smith & Wesson medallions. Its wood, metal, and bore are all in very good condition.
