I bought this as something to learn on. It's a great starter gun to learn control and accuracy... when it works. I had to have it repaired 4 times. It started when the release button on front got jammed and I couldn't strip it for cleaning. Then it failed to load rounds properly and jammed casings. Eventually the firing pin jammed altogether. To be fair, I know a couple people who have the same exact model that had no problems whatsoever. One guy fired nearly 5,000 rounds without cleaning it. Just be warned that when it goes bad, it goes really bad.

Comments about Smith & Wesson Smith & Wesson Model 22A No Bull Handgun:
Very accurate, nice balance, and it has handled several types of ammo with no issues. It is a pleasure to shoot. The only drawback is the release button to release the slide for cleaning. It is VERY stiff. It has eased a tiny bit after 4 cleanings. I use a small block of wood to press it down.

Being a smaller person, this gun is the perfect weight for me. It's not light, yet not too heavy for someone my size to easily use accurately.

Comments about Smith & Wesson Smith & Wesson Model 22A No Bull Handgun:
The pistol is a little bit heavier than one might expect, but that's probably a good thing in the end as cuts down even further on the minimal recoil. It's great for a beginner or anyone looking for something on the cheaper side to shoot. Great value.

Q:
Do you need to get a permit to buy this gun?Asked on 5/13/2010 by Anonymous4 answers
A:
It depends on your state laws. In MN we're required to obtain a permit to purchase handguns. They are no cost and just a short questionaire done at local police station. Takes 7 days to get it back through the mailAnswered on 5/20/2010 by Big Dog from MinnesotaA:
In Mississippi, there is no waiting period or permit required. I walked into the store, waited 15 minutes for a background check (filled out paperwork during this time) and then swiped my credit card.Answered on 6/21/2012 by Jason from Poplarville, MSA:
Depends on the state...
In Florida all you do is pass the background check and wait the 3 day wating period...Answered on 6/15/2010 by jdbray64 from Jacksonville, FloridaA:
New York State- Patience is a virtue. Do all necessary paper work at your county's sheriff's office. Then get finger printed. This costs a little over $100. Then make sure you choose good people to be your references, and hope they are expedient about getting the required paperwork back to the sheriff's office. Then wait for the office to send everything to the state. Then, once you actually hear back and hopefully get approved (this could me MONTHS later), buy your gun with a voucher from the sheriff and go take a 4 hour safety course.Answered on 2/12/2012 by Pistol Packin Mama from Oneonta, NY
