Comments about Smith & Wesson Smith & Wesson M&P9c Handgun:

I have had single-action automatics with worse trigger pulls; it is good for a DAO. When new, the trigger was heavy and felt gritty. With some break-in dry firing, it became smoother and lighter, and is now pretty good. I have not tested the trigger weight. Accuracy is quite good. I find that I can generally hit the black on standard bullseye targets (3" at 50') if firing at a relaxed pace of maybe 2 seconds per shot, as long as I do not get sloppy. I find I shoot much better with the finger rest magazine. I like the grip much better than a Glock. I use the small grip insert, even though my hands are L-XL, as it enables me to properly seat the back strap into my palm and still get my fingers wrapped around the front strap for a very firm grip. There has been no hint of functional issues, after firing about 200 rounds of FMJ and several Winchester XTP JHP. The thing I find I do not like about it is that it is noticeably thicker than a single-stack compact. I decided I wanted the 10 rounds of 40 S&W, but that extra thickness and weight do not make comfortable carry easy. It is acceptably concealable with an IWB holster under a loose-fitting polo shirt, but I need to find a more comfortable holster. It is definitely too big for pocket carry. I can pocket carry my Ruger LCP 380, but the M&P 40c makes my khakis print like Saran Wrap. Compared to a S&W Shield, it is more bulky, though the wider grip is more comfortable to shoot. Everything is a compromise; to get 10 rounds of 40S&W, one must put up with more bulk and weight. As it is, I have a compact that I can shoot about as well as a full-size pistol, with real stopping power and a generous magazine, and I can conceal it while wearing a polo shirt and khakis. The right holster might make it comfortable. I am very happy with it. I was going to give it 4 stars, but upon reflection, I will award it 5.

Comments about Smith & Wesson Smith & Wesson M&P9c Handgun:

This firearm will eat up anything you can feed into it. 2,000 + rounds through this firearm and not a single stovepipe, jam, or misfire. This is the most ergonomic pistol I have laid my hands on and has very good control for a subcompact. Small enough to conceal carry, but large enough to get the job done. I highly recommend to anyone asking me about a pistol purchase.
