I use my AR-15 at the shooting range.I have not used it for hunting yet.The red dot that came with the rifle is great. The down fall is it did not come with a flash muzzle on it but the picture show it with one.

Comments about Smith & Wesson Smith & Wesson M&P 15 Optics-Ready Centerfire Rifle Package:
What a solid matched upper and lower! absolutely no wiggle at all. My Colt AR wiggled right from the box, but this S&W didnt show any wiggle. Shot 300 rounds without a single jam. Sights are very eazy to zero in, Could be easily taken off and placed back on without losing your zero.

Comments about Smith & Wesson Smith & Wesson M&P 15 Optics-Ready Centerfire Rifle Package:
I shoot the hell out of this gun and put it to the test on the range at work. The sights are far and above what you would expect for the price of this combo.

Comments about Smith & Wesson Smith & Wesson M&P 15 Optics-Ready Centerfire Rifle Package:
I have the EOTech sight on a SW M&P rifle, but I bought them seperately instead of as a package. I also have Magpul BUIS, a Midwest Industries rail, and a Glock light on the rail. I bought the optics ready rifle and put everything on it after market.
The quality of the SW rifle and the EOTech sight are second to none. I wish I could have bought them as a package because I probably would have saved a hundred dollars. This is an amazing deal.
I don't hunt and I am not a cop. I'm just a yuppie who likes to shoot on the weekends at a local shooting club. I keep the rifle as a home defense weapon.
I never go cheap on weapons or accessories, and I'm lucky enough to be able to splurge and treat myself to the best. If you want the best quality and price go with Smith and Wesson.

Comments about Smith & Wesson Smith & Wesson M&P 15 Optics-Ready Centerfire Rifle Package:
The only negative is that it does not come with regular sights. A nice flip-down style tactical sight sistem would enhance the overall weapon. This is the only reason that I gave it four stars.

Comments about Smith & Wesson Smith & Wesson M&P 15 Optics-Ready Centerfire Rifle Package:
I'm glad I didn't see the negative review on this one. I Love mine. I have my own outdoor range & have shot it in different types of weather. I group my shots in the size of a quarter at 100 yards...sometimes smaller. My friends each have their own brand AR15. I will take this one any time.

Do you sell any AR15 that is piston driven?Asked on 5/11/2010 by Lsteve5170 from Columbus, Ohio0 answers
Q:
Can you hunt with this rifle since it is semi auto?Asked on 4/28/2010 by jared from ohio1 answer
A:
It is dependent on your state laws, But in most states it is legal to hunt with semi-auto rifles.Answered on 2/1/2012 by Tim from Levelland, TX
Q:
I am currently serving in Iraq. I want to buy an AR, but I am not sure what all I am limited to. I am from Wilson, NY 14131 and again I am not sure of the laws that are required or where even to find this information. Also I am extreamly use to the 5.56 rounds that we use in theatre and I am sure that there is no or not much of a difference between the 5.56 and .223, I guess the real question is. Is there a difference? Thank you for your assistance.Asked on 3/11/2010 by Jimmy from Wilson, NY 141317 answers
A:
NY has a restricted mag capacity, 10 I believe. 5.56 is a higher pressure round, therefore higher velocity. A rifle made strictly for .223 may not be able to handle 5.56. They are the same sized cartridge and bullet. Most combat rifles are made for 5.56 and therefore .223 also.Answered on 3/20/2010 by Ben from MSA:
Yes there is a difference. The 5.56 creates more pressure then the .223. Because of the pressure difference it is not recommended that you do not shoot the 5.56 in a .223 chamber. It will prematurely weaken and wear out the chamber. However I bought this rifle from Gander Mountain and mine is chambered in 5.56.Answered on 3/19/2010 by John from Ocala Fl.A:
Not much of a difference in the rounds, except the 5.56 requires a little bit stiffer barrel than the .223. In NY it gets tricky, but I think the SW AR-15 clone is NY compliant...I would check first, but I thinks it compliant....Answered on 3/22/2010 by Chucky Stars from Clovis, CAA:
Good question - simple answer.
A weapon chambered for 5.56 will fire 5.56 or .223.
Never, ever fire 5.56 from a weapon chambered for .223.
Simply look at the barrel for 5.56 NATO.
Has to do with the "seating" of the round when chambered.
Very, very little difference with the 2 rounds - huge difference with the "end" of the chamber.Answered on 3/28/2010 by jim from huntsville alabamaA:
It is Ny compliantAnswered on 5/13/2010 by Bigguy from Easton, MDA:
Gander Mountain does sell a NY compliant S&W M&P 15. No flash suppressor, limited to 10-round clip and the stock is fixed. Telescopic stocks, >10 round clip and flash suppressors are not legal in NY. Tough state!Answered on 10/20/2010 by RCH from Syracuse, NYA:
10 mag is the largest in NY Gander only sells NYS compliant weapons. I am getting the Smith and Wesson M&P 15 in the near future can't waitAnswered on 3/6/2012 by big dog from hurley ny
