Comments about Smith Heavy-Duty Spare Tire Carrier:
This is a particularly sturdy, easy to install mount. I used it on a 3 rail motorcycle trailer with a 3"x3" tongue and 530x12" tires. Even though it is a raised design, the spare hung down several inches too low for my liking, which would affect my ground clearance on rough roads. I rotated it 90 degrees to make the spare ride horizontal. It will be a great mini table now, with no ground clearance problems. I wrapped the trailer tongue with vinyl tape to pad the paint before installation. I was pleasantly surprised that it came with conical lug nuts to mount the spare on the rack.

Comments about Smith Heavy-Duty Spare Tire Carrier:
Most trailers are painted. The spare tire mount should come with a protective pad or be coated with something that won't stratch the trailer's paint.

Comments about Smith Heavy-Duty Spare Tire Carrier:
This was an easy to install product built of high quality material. Two cross members wrap around trailer frame, and then get bolted to the carrier. The spapre tire then gets bolted to the carrier. Took about 10 minutes.

Picked up two of these, one for my PWC and another for my Skiff trailer. Works great! Takes only 5 - 10 minutes to install.
