A variation on the Springfield Model 1903, the Smith-Corona 03-A3 was manufactured for the U.S. military due to Springfield's inability to keep up with demand during World War II. The Model 1903 was based on a Mauser design, but differs from other rifles of the time by using a two-piece firing pin. This bolt-action rifle has been sanded and refinished with no visible cartouches. The rifle has a blade front sight, an adjustable rear sight, a P proof stamp on the underside of the barrel, and an SC falming bomb stamp on the top of the barrel. The rifle's floorplate is mildly pitted. Over all, its wood, metal, and bore are in good condition.
