I used this product on a 3 night outing fishing with some friends. I'm a decent sized fellow, 6' 4", 285lbs. It was very supportive and worked very well. It assembled just like every cot I've ever owned which was just fine. I didn't like the fact that it smelled like the fumigation that most imported items of this nature have. It's a result of the skids and packaging that were used to import the product. The customs office has to fumigate the material for bugs and you can smell it. I'm sure that changing the style of packaging from the off-shore supplier would fix this, but it would also probably drive up the cost and make it a less attractive price point. The quick fix, a little febreeze and all was well.

Comments about Slumberjack Big Cot:
Not being an natural camper, I had to figure out compromises between scouting sons and my wish for 5-star hotel sleeping. A friend loaned this cot to me for a cold tent weekend for Mom and Sons. I slept great. No waking up frozen to the ground as I have in the past. Wouldn't want to pack-it-in too far as it is bulky. But fairly light weight and easy to set up. I bought a camp mat for the less modernized camping.

Comments about Slumberjack Big Cot:
GREAT Cot! Solid and Easy on the Back. Bulky cot but really easy to setup and solid. Perfect for one person.
This is a base camp cot, avoid hiking with this cot. Just too heavy and bulky.

I used this at a 7 day Boy Scout Summer Camp. After walking all day to help the Scouts, it was great to get a good nights rest sleeping on a comfortable big cot.

Comments about Slumberjack Big Cot:
Bought two of these for camping with a truck LOVED them sturdy easy to set up and best sleep on a camping trip yet.. these will be FIRST on the list of what to take either to camp or camping out..high enough to keep gear out of the walk area and sturdy enough for a fidgity sleeper. Too bad too heavy to backpack but for all else GREAT. Used them for overnite guests in the house too. Wish I had them years ago but got them NOW!! Buying more for gifts !!

I'm not sure, but I'm guessing it's between 15 - 20 pounds. I am a 60-year-old, arthritic female camper who has no problem packing, assembling and repacking this cot by myself.Answered on 6/29/2009 by Camper Jane from Rochester NYVERIFIED BUYER

Q:
being make out of aluminum. I see a problem happening with this frame. If when some one sits on the edge will the frame bend?Asked on 2/15/2009 by mishaji from elgin il3 answers
A:
I can't say for sure but if this was a wally world special, I'd have the same concern. This is a heavy duty from Gander Mt. ...if it is a light gauge tube, and bends ...I'd bet you'd get your money back and it would disappear from the line. I think this is good stuff and is offered at their competition's site (think big C).Answered on 2/26/2009 by mak from NYA:
I weight 175 and have used the same cot for 3 years. Sitting on the edge is not a problem. The cot doesn't even creak or quiver. The quality is excellent.Answered on 7/21/2009 by Camper Jane from .VERIFIED BUYER
A:
No. I sat on the edge of the bed numerous times during my last camping trip. I weigh close to 300lbs and did not have any issues. I've only used it for 4 days and 3 nights in a row, so there might be an issue later, but I doubt it. This is a much more durable construction than other aluminum frame cots I've had in the past.Answered on 3/26/2009 by Walleye from Oak Ridge, MO
