Comments about Sightmark .380 ACP Premium Laser Boresight SM39028:

My Ruger SC9c hand gun has adjustable rear sights and I've tried adjusting them at the range, but was never sure if my consistently missed shots were due to incorrect sight adjustment or my own faulty shooting form, or both. I was looking at buying a rail mounted laser sight, but didn't want to spend over $100, just to get my iron sights adjusted properly. Ideally I'd like to improve my pistol shooting with iron sights on my handgun, instead of relying on laser sights and possible dead batteries. So I thought I would try the Laser Boresight. It was easy to set up and used a portable Black & Decker workmate on one end of our basement to hold the pistol steady and a target taped to the wall on the other end, which is about 20 yards. I discovered that both the windage and height adjustments on the rear sight were quite a bit off. It took me about a half hour to get the rear sight adjusted to be right on the red laser dot pointed at the target through the bore of my gun. I believe my sights are now right on the mark. I will got to the indoor range tomorrow to see if my accuracy improves. Look for another update after I return from the range.
