I bought this gun for home protection and range shooting. This gun can be broken down in about 5 seconds, cleaned, then put back together just as fast. The only challenge I had with this gun was the accuracy (at first). However, after a few rounds I figured out that Sig sighted this in as a "point of aim" rather than the traditional 6'oclock aim that I was used to. I only have good things to say about this pistol. Enjoy!

I bought this gun because I am a big fan of polymer pistols. I own H&k's,Glocks, & Springfields etc. I go to the range once a week, so I do alot of target shooting. The gun looks nice, it seems to be well built, but it is horribly unaccurate. I've tried shooting 15 yds, 25 yrds, & 35 yrds and I couldnt hit anywhere near a bullseye. I have no problems with any other of my guns. I replaced the factory guide rod and was going to get new sights, but I dont think I'll waste my money. I guess according to the other reviews, I must have gotten a bad one.

Comments about Sig Sauer® SP2022® Handgun:
Excellent shooter. Very accurate right out of the box.
About 200 rounds so far and zero issues even with some reloads that my M&P has trouble with.
Only downside: only came with 1 mag, no case just cardboard box.

Comments about Sig Sauer® SP2022® Handgun:
I purchased this gun for home defense and for conceal carry. This gun is lightweight, and concealable. I have shot a couple hundred rounds through it with not problems. Have added a flashlight to the rail very easily. This was a good buy.

Comments about Sig Sauer® SP2022® Handgun:
Love the SIG quality. Pistol is very well made. Works/shoots smoothly. Comes with only one mag, but it is a 15 round mag. No case, just a foam-lined box, cable lock and directions. Field stripping is difficult relative to other models, such as the 226 and 229, because one must align the barrel with a hole in the frame to insert the slide lock pin when reattaching the slide to the frame. It gets better with practice but it is still a bit of a pain. Watch You Tube videos to see what I am talking about. I bought because of SIG entry-level price and because you can decock with a round in the chamber, then double-action fire, which i think is desirable in a good CCW pistol. However, this model is rather large for a CCW even though sold as a "compact."

Comments about Sig Sauer® SP2022® Handgun:
I was given the P2022 as a gift and kinda rolled my eyes to myself because I already own a P226 and P225 in 9mm, P220 in .45 and P229 in .40. All of these are significantly more expensive than the P2022. The most accurate has always been the P226. Imagine my surprise and delight when it turns out the P2029 is just as accurate as the P226 and more accurate than any of the others.

Q:
Looking at the picture up top for this SP2022, it has a red dot like it would be a safety indicator. I was under the impression that this firearm doesn't have one. It appears that the red dot in the picture is at the bottom of the decocker slide. Did SP2022 add a safety in a recent upgrade or is the picture inaccurate?Asked on 4/30/2012 by Anonymous0 answers
