sig_sauer The SIG50 bolt-action tactical rifle is a long-range tactical rifle designed with the shooter in mind, the ultimate in big-bore, long-range power. The SIG50 offers a match grade trigger that breaks cleanly at 3.5 pounds. Fully user-customizable ergonomics include an adjustable cheek-rest and an ergonomic, pistol grip stock with a butt plate adjustable for length of pull. Additionally, the stock also detaches for ease of transport, yet locks up firmly to provide optimal support and strength. A 29" heavy fluted barrel features a recoil-reducing muzzle break that minimizes wear and fatigue on the shooter. Weighing in at only 23.5" pounds, Sig Sauer has created the perfect blend between lightweight portability and manageable recoil. The full-length machined M1913 rails allow for rock solid, repeatable mounting of optics, night vision, bipods, and laser designators.

        As a well known hunting enthusiast, I would consider this weapon to be the ideal all around rifle. It is capable of taking everything from ground hogs to Russian helicopters. My gun bearers have carried this gun over hill and dale with no complaints. With this rifle, I've been able to shoot elk in New Mexico while never leaving the state of Arizona. Now that's range. The only drawback to this rifle is that softpoint hunting ammo is a bit hard to locate.

        Bought this as a back up to my 22-250 and wow what a difference. When I shoot a deer with my other rifle the deer may run a ways, with the 50 BMG no matter where they're hit they drop. I now take shots at 800 yards with confidence. One drawback is the vaporization of smaller animals. No trophies to mount for small game
