Product Description
sig_sauer With the introduction of the P938, Sig Sauer now offers the ballistic advantage of the 9mm cartridge in a platform similar in size to the best-selling P238 pistol. A single-action-only trigger, coupled with full-size SIGLITE Night Sights makes the P938 handle like a much larger pistol, yet is still easy to carry concealed. With dimensions just slightly larger than its .380ACP counterpart, the P938 comes with a 6-round and 7-round magazine. The cocked-and-locked single-action trigger gives the P938 unmatched accuracy in a pistol its size. Fans of the 1911 will find the thumb safety, magazine release and slide stop lever in familiar places. An ambidextrous safety makes the P938 easy for left- and right-handed shooters. Following in the footsteps of other Extreme models, this P938 has a Nitron-coated stainless slide and black anodized frame. Hogue G-10 Piranha grips in black and grey provide maximum grip and a distinctive look.

I put a lot of time into finding an ideal CCW gun. I spend a lot of time and miles hiking alone in the woods and the besides a minimum caliber of .38 or 9mm, it was very important for me to find something light in weight with minium recoil. I have used a Glock in the past but developed a disability in my wrist, and after that I tended to "limp wrist" the Glock. I do not have that problem with the P938. Additionally there is little recoil considering the small size of the gun, and I was able to get reasonably tight groups of 1 1/2 inches at 20 feet with the first 6 rounds I put through the gun. I found that the magazine spring was really tight when new, making it hard to load even with a loading tool, and it took several rounds before it loosened sufficiently. Many people have complained that the grooved trigger hurt their finger, but I did not find this to be the case. The trigger is very heavy at just under 9 lbs and having it worked on by a gunsmith will void your Sig Sauer warranty. That said, the folks at Sig in NH told me that they are working on offering a replacement trigger and will also be offering a custom fine tuning but of course that will be additional $$$. That said, I did not buy this gun for "fun" target plinking, I bought it strictly for CCW self defense, and hopefully I do not expect to be using the gun for anything other than maintaining my shooting skills in that scenario, so the heavier trigger pull is not an issue for me. I would also like to add that I am a woman in my mid-fifties.

    Not very accurate

Small and comfortable in hand. Accuracy is not there. I would have expected a tighter group vs 24 in group at 5 and 10 yards

Comments about Sig Sauer P938 Extreme Handgun:

It feels and looks great. I haven't had the chance to fire it yet, but I look forward. Easy, smooth slide to chamber a round. I own two .40s, but needed something smaller and unobtrusive for my Concealed Handgun License carry. I've never owned a 9mm, but, after conferring with five police officers and an avid collector, know the ballistics are quite good. Craig, the young salesman at the Round Rock, TX store was very friendly and informative. Once he suggested the Sig 938 and allowed me to "feel" it, I was convinced to go with it. I purchased it by phone and picked it up at the San Antonio store. Knowledgeable and efficient salespersons.

Comments about Sig Sauer P938 Extreme Handgun:

Looking for a better CCW than the S&W Bodyguard 380 I was carrying. The P938 is everything the Bodyguard is not. It is well made, accurate for its size, easy to maintain and shoots everything I've put through it. The 7-round mag makes it feel just right in my hand. Gun is well balanced and has great night sights. As a lefty I am glad it has a standard ambi safety. You won't be disappointed with this weapon. I am going to buy a second one for my wife as she loves firing it. I purchased mine from Gander Mountain with no problems.

Comments about Sig Sauer P938 Extreme Handgun:

Was originally looking at the P238, but decided to go with the larger 9mm round. Came with a standard 6 rnd and extended 7 rnd magazines as well as a rigid plastic holster. Pistol is easy to use and maintain (strips down just like a 1911). Have put multiple brands of ammo through it and have had no failures to date. Small and compact making it a nice CCW firearm.
