Comments about Shimano® Sedona® FD Spinning Reels:
I've been doing fly-in trips to Canada for many years. It is imparetive that you have good gear. there are other good brands on the market I'm sure but Shamino has always been my reel of choice. This reel, I use for trolling and jigging with 8# line for walleyes. Occasionally a large northern will hit and with a little patience this reel works very well.

Comments about Shimano® Sedona® FD Spinning Reels:
Maybe the smoothest spinning reel I've owned. There's a "notch" between the bail wire and the roller assembly (I've tried to capture it with the included picture but admittedly hard to see) that often catches the line before it gets to the roller. This potentially twists the line and may cause premature wear on the line. My biggest issue is that if the line doesn't make it to the roller assembly, the bail flips several times when you try to set the hook allowing several loops of line to come off the spool. I've lost several fish due to this. I manually close the bail and must be careful that the line makes it all the way to the roller. However, if a fish hits the bait on the initial fall it's likely to get away due to impossible hook set. Seems a design flaw to me on an otherwise great reel.

Comments about Shimano® Sedona® FD Spinning Reels:
this is a good reel for use with light line and light terminal tackle. Shimano products are generally well made and this reel is no exception.

Comments about Shimano® Sedona® FD Spinning Reels:
I just purchase shimano 2500FD. This reel has a great feel and good looks.I think this reel is one of the best on the market for the price. [...] I will buy another one in a heart beat. My son tried it out and I no longer own that rod and reel.

Comments about Shimano® Sedona® FD Spinning Reels:
I fish 50 times a year and use a spinning reel 2/3 of the time to throw light weight lures. Shimano makes a quality product that I can depend on. I currently own 5 Spirix/Sedona reels and they stand up to a lot of casting and catching. This last reel is for my son to use fishing for Redfish in Louisiana and I think it will stand up to the marsh conditions and the tough fight of big reds.

Comments about Shimano® Sedona® FD Spinning Reels:
From jigging, jerkbaits to crankbaits-I tried them all and was very impressed with the reels smooth and tangle free operation. A great reel comparable to more expensive models at a value price. Only con is bail is hard to crank closed, but I use my fingers to close anyway. Highly recommend.
