Featuring an ergonomic design and fetching two-tone coloring, the durable reel is perfect for a variety of fishing applications and offers up to two decades of performance and reliability. HEG (High-Efficiency Gear) Developing features large drive and pinion gears for increased leverage and power. 1-pc. frame incorporates setplate and 1-pc. stamped sideplate to eliminate flex in the drivetrain, for high-speed retrieves, incredible torque, and reduced friction and drag. Aluminum frame resists corrosion. Recessed reel foot for better handling, casting, and pitching. Super Free Bearing Supported Pinion Gear System (SF) ensures the spool shaft and pinion gear remain in perfect alignment, eliminating all friction for farther casting with much less effort. Dartainium Drag material for smooth performance. VBS (Variable Brake System) with reduced mass hub uses centrifugal force and a range of weight settings to controll the cast for a consistent spool speed. Super Stopper anti-reverse with assist stopper uses a one-way bearing to eliminate backplay for instant hooksetting power. 1/8-turn easy-access attached sideplate provides unparalleled line control and long-distance casting. Disengaging Levelwind System prevents the line from being trapped under itself on the spool during rewind and interfering with subsequent casts. Septon PV Power Grips for comfortable handling. This is my first "big-name" baitcasting reel, and I can tell you that there IS a difference! I can now cast farther with less effort. This reel was very easy to get used to, and I havent had a backlash yet. Besides, the Gander Mtn. price was too low to pass up
