shimano Featuring an ergonomic design and fetching two-tone coloring, the durable reel is perfect for a variety of fishing applications and offers up to two decades of performance and reliability. HEG (High-Efficiency Gear) Developing features large drive and pinion gears for increased leverage and power. 1-pc. frame incorporates setplate and 1-pc. stamped sideplate to eliminate flex in the drivetrain, for high-speed retrieves, incredible torque, and reduced friction and drag. Aluminum frame resists corrosion. Recessed reel foot for better handling, casting, and pitching. Super Free Bearing Supported Pinion Gear System (SF) ensures the spool shaft and pinion gear remain in perfect alignment, eliminating all friction for farther casting with much less effort. Dartainium Drag material for smooth performance. VBS (Variable Brake System) with reduced mass hub uses centrifugal force and a range of weight settings to controll the cast for a consistent spool speed. Super Stopper anti-reverse with assist stopper uses a one-way bearing to eliminate backplay for instant hooksetting power. 1/8-turn easy-access attached sideplate provides unparalleled line control and long-distance casting. Disengaging Levelwind System prevents the line from being trapped under itself on the spool during rewind and interfering with subsequent casts. Septon PV Power Grips for comfortable handling. Lightweight graphite sideplates. A7075 Aluminum Magnumlite spool. Metal cast control knob. Anodized spool and handle. 5 Bearings: 4 Shielded Stainless Steel BB; 1 Roller Clutch Bearing.           when i first got the reel it was great, it would cast a country mile never had a problem. after about three months of heavy use i noticed that the distance really went down. when i opened the 6 pin breaking system up completly it would cast a country mile, however i couldnt control the backlashes. If i put the breaking system up one i could only cast maybe across the street at best no matter how hard i threw it. simply put, the reel didnt have a happy medium between completly open and completly shut. i did take the reel back and they replaced it, but in the end i had the exact same problem about three months into using the new one. i would have to say i would not recommend this reel for the avid fishermen. however for the beginner its perfect. the reel is virtually impossible to backlash with the breaking system.

            all i could do on my first cast was say wow it went a country mile it was as smooth as silk this reel is the best i have seen in this price range it is unbelievable the way it performs.
