Comments about Shakespeare® Ugly Stik® Rear Drag Spinning Combo:
I was looking at this rod in Va while on leave from Active Duty and my mother put it in the cart. Used it that nite on the river back home and caught a couple of nice large mouth with it and fell in love with the Ugly Stik. Very durable and light weight. I use it to fish the local ponds while on my lunch break almost daily. I have caught bass, sunfish, blue gills, perch and some catfish with it on the 6 lb test but bumped it up to 8lb, the 6lb is the only down fall depending on where you fish. I have let my 6 & 8 year old cousins use this pole for sunfish and blue gills and the easy release has saved many snarls from forming. Great product as are all Ugly Stiks.

Q:
what's the difference between rear and front drag?Asked on 7/11/2009 by Ted from Mpls MN3 answers
A:
Front drag is adjusted on the spool, rear drag is adjusted at the back of the reel.Answered on 10/26/2009 by crzyal from whitehall,MIA:
Front drag means the adjustment is atop the reel (or 'front' of the reel when holding the rod horizontally). A rear drag reel is adjusted on the bottom (or back) of the reel. It's a matter of preference. I can say only that I've grown accustomed to rear drag. In my humble opinion, is it's more efficient when you must change the drag in a hurry -- depending on what you feel on the other end of the line. I consider this important when using light tackle. I fish mostly for crappie and perch, but I'm in an area where large carp, bowfin and pickerel are not uncommon.Answered on 8/31/2010 by Chris from Va. Beach, VAA:
Nothing really you can just do rear drag quicker.Answered on 5/14/2012 by Buck from TN
