Comments about Shakespeare® Ugly Stik® Catfish Spinning Rod, 8':
I was looking for an in-between rod with good strength for about 15 to 17 lb test line and I got it. Very economical too. I put a 17-18 ounce baitrunner type reel on it for a perfect match. Easily holds 300 yds of 30 LB super braided line. I've tried longer and shorter rods for striper baitfishing and lure casting and have settled on the 8' as the happy medium.

Comments about Shakespeare® Ugly Stik® Catfish Spinning Rod, 8':
Its a Ugly Stik so it has the great quality and assurance it will work, the length works well in the Delta, for a bigger rod the tip is sensative. I paired it up with a Penn Sargus 6000 perfect match.I am going to buy two more of these for christmas gifts
The only thing that I can find a con about is the glow in the dark tip doesn't work well

Comments about Shakespeare® Ugly Stik® Catfish Spinning Rod, 8':
I purchased a pair of these rods for surf fishing North Carolina. The Striper series rods were out of stock and one piece are difficult to transport. They performed well with larger fish (Blues,Rays,Sharks)and were sensitive enough to feel small spots and mullet.
