These are a very popular rod for people who like to canoe and backpack. They retract to a nice size. The only issue I have with them is that they use to be made a lot nicer with ceramic or resin eyes instead of the plain, cheap metal ones they use now. I would like to see Shakespeare go back to making them the old way which was much nicer.

Comments about Shakespeare® Travel Mate Telescopic Spinning Rod, 6'6":
bought two rods for a Colorado vacation with family. Used with ultralight reels with four pound test for my grandchildren to fish for trout while I used my fly rod. They out performed me. Easy to pack. Durable enough to bounce around in the back of an off road jeep without any damage. Limber enough to land nice German browns. Very pleased!!
