Comments about Shakespeare® Travel Mate Telescopic Spinning Rod, 4'6":
I consider myself a pretty serious fisherman. I have almost a dozen rods set up in my garage and I used them for all my serious fishing trips and when I go out in my boat. But as life has gotten busier with kids etc I've had to take advantage of smaller chances to wet a line. I bike part of my commute to work, and I can fit this rod in my bag it collapses so small. My bike route takes me along the shore of a large lake. When I'm 15 minutes early or see some bass cruising I prop my bike against a tree and pull out this cheap rod, and I've had a blast! With an ultralight reel and 4lb test I've teased crappies out of the weeds and pulled some medium sized large mouth bass out too. It is light enough to really cast some small lures. Better for smaller fish, basically an ultralight. This is no custom stick, but recently this little rod has seen more hours than my other rods combined. Buy a couple and keep them in the trunk for when a business trip takes you past a lakeshore!

Comments about Shakespeare® Travel Mate Telescopic Spinning Rod, 4'6":
Unbelievable action and sensitivity on this 4'6" rod. Most telescopic rods are like fishing with a broomstick but this shakespeare is perfect for brook fishing or bass fishing alike. Inexpensive and durable.

This product works great for my 8 year old cub scout. He strAps it on a fishoflauge, Plano bicycle bag. He loves it. He uses everytime we go to camp or a cub scout day camp. I am a den leader I am buying 18 more of these for my scouts. My son has caught more fish since hes had it!
