Product Description
shakespeare This low-profile baitcast reel is designed with an anti-backlash system which automatically controls the spool and allows for tangle-free casting. An on/off feature lets you turn off the anti-backlash system, so you can cast like a standard low-profile baitcast reel. Three ball bearings plus one-way clutch instant anti-reverse. Comes filled with 10-lb. line. The two-piece 6'0" medium power rod is made of composite graphite with cork handle and stainless steel guides.

          I cannot recommend this rod and reel to anyone due to its poor quality for two reasons. First, as to how the reel attaches to the rod, very cheap and weak. Second, the reel's brake system was not good enough to match the bait's weight to the reel. This caused difficulty with casting even with 3/4 oz. lures. Lighter lures ie. 1/2 oz. were very bad. I didn't like it and neither did the four other fishermen on the trip.

            I am learning how to baitcast with this outfit. Unfortunately Gander did not have it when I got mine. I shop Gander mainly because it is the best type of store in my area, however I found this outfit at a competitor's cheaper, and got it because my Gander manager told me he did not know about it, and doubted they would get it. I just might be interested in another one as this one is so good.

                  I bought this for my son and took it out today to use it prior to him using it and this has to be the worst baitcasting reel I have ever used...The calibration on it is limited...it casts horribly...You have to use a ton of weight on the line to get it to cast freely because the adjustment of the reel is minor. Not good for a beginner...prior to making a purchase I read the above reviews and thats why I bought it. maybe mine is defective but it is garbage!
