Comments about Savage Arms Savage Model 93 R17 BTVS Rimfire Rifle:
I put on a 6X FXII Leupold scope. It shoots 17gr and 20gr Winchester, CCI, and Hornady equally well. 20gr bullets seem to shoot about 1 inch lower at 100 yards. This is an extremly accurate rifle. The trigger is very light and clean. Very good feel with the thumbhole stock, it handles quickly and naturaly. I'm planning to hunt varmits and other nasty critters with it.

I'm like the feel of this rifle. It is easy to clean. A little heavy but that will keep my brothers from using it. As I beat them at the range.

I have used this rifle to kill a lot of paper. Really shoots nice and flat. Great groups at 50 and 100 yds. Haven't tried 300 yds yet but I am sure it will do the job. I know you will like it.

Comments about Savage Arms Savage Model 93 R17 BTVS Rimfire Rifle:
I purchased this gun as a gun/scope combo. Using the scope that it came with, after a few rounds of sighting it in I was consistently hitting a bullseye smaller than a dime from 110 yards. I still can't believe how accurate this thing is.

Q:
What scope would you recomend with this rifle, and what is the cost of said scopeAsked on 4/6/2010 by nice mike from G.R. Mi.1 answer
A:
That's one of those questions where the answer is "How much do you have to spend?" This is a magnificently accurate rifle that is good enough to take advantage of some very good optics.
With mine, I had a strict budget. I put on a 6 - 18x BSA Sweet 17. I can't post a site, but google that exact designation and you can find it for $49. It's a matte finish, rather than stainless like the rifle, but it's a great bargain. It compensates for bullet drop in the 17g .17 HMR out to 300 yards. Click in the yardage and hold dead-on.
It didn't cost a lot and I've been very happy with it.Answered on 4/19/2012 by ZA from Charlotte, NC
