Comments about Savage Arms Savage® Mark II Youth Rimfire Rifle:
I always wanted a Bull barrel target riffle. I shot a clip and checked my target and there was one hole the size of my thumb. Unusual riffling. Excellent sights. The magazine is cheap looking and the stock is plain. For the price it's an excellent buy.

Comments about Savage Arms Savage® Mark II Youth Rimfire Rifle:
This is a great target rifle with a bull barrel and Williams target sights. The instruction manual gives no real indication of how to install or adjust the target sights and the Williams website has no instructions either. The book is generic and so are some of the features of the rifle. But, Savage put the money in the barrel and the trigger and both are excellent. If you want to try peep sights, this is your inexpensive choice. If you want a scope, buy the similar target rifle without the "T" and you will save on the rifle and put the money on a good rimfire scope and mounts.
Service and delivery comments:
It took over three weeks for Gander Mountain to transfer the rifle from its store in Ohio to the local store in Florida. By comparison, when they order from the distributor ( as they did for another rifle for me), it came within days as promised. Gander Mountain has no paper trail when you order something so get your salesperson's name and be sure to deal with him/her. This is a terrible weakness in Gander Mountain's system. Other retailers do not have this problem. Wait times for a salesperson are unacceptable and the whole Gander Mountain firearms buying experience could be improved by observing its main competitors. On this particular rifle, the Gander Mountain internal website shows it as "discontinued" and my rifle was made in 2008. (Bought in Jan 2010). But it is a new rifle and is shown on Savage's current website.
