Comments about Savage Arms Savage Axis Centerfire Rifle:
I purchased this in 30-06 and have put about 30 rounds through it so far.
So far this gun has performed very well First shot off bore sight was right in the bullseye.
Have only got down to a 2" group at 100yds but that is probably due to the cheaper ammo (150Gr CoreLok) more so than the gun.
The bolt does have a noticable hump, as long as you have a smooth firm motion it doesn't hinder use.
Break in is highly recommended, the Barrel became much smoother inside after each shot/clean cycle.

Comments about Savage Arms Savage Axis Centerfire Rifle:
This gun is by far the best i've hunted with. I would pick it over a remington 700. with a 3-9x40 I can have a 2 in group at 150 yds, and I am not a great shot and I almost dropped a deer at 350 yards with this gun. Highly suggest!

Comments about Savage Arms Savage Axis Centerfire Rifle:
This rifle was a birthday gift my dad bought me. Mine is a package rifle with a cammo stock and black barrel (not any more because i spray painted it cammo for coyote hunting). When i first seen the gun I didnt like the short barrel because im used to shooting 26" barrels and not 22"-24" barrels. But after shooting it for about 20mins I really enjoyed it and was shocked at how accurate this rifle really is for it being a entry level rifle and having a short barrel and when compaired to my other Savage that cost me quiet a bit of money its rite up there with it. I am able to touch holes at 400 yards with my rifle and I couldnt be any happier with how this rifle shoots.

Comments about Savage Arms Savage Axis Centerfire Rifle:
I first came across one in a gun shop and first thought it was made cheaply. A friend of mine has one and I shot it. Again, I got the impression it was just cheaply made. It is a savage so it is accurate, but it is worth the price to get a model 110,111, 10, or 11. They are a lifetime gun this is a beginner or short term gun.
