Ruger Vaquero fan!!!-FOR LIFE!!!

By "Gen. Lee"

About Me Collector, Enthusiast, Homeowner, Hunter, I'm a law-abiding citizen

  • Accuracy
  • Easy Maintenance
  • Easy To Use
  • I love that 7 12
  • Ultra-reliable

  • Can't mount a scope
  • None that I know of

Best Uses

  • A good 44 Spec round
  • Home Protection
  • Shooting Ranges

Comments about Ruger® Vaquero Handgun:

I've had (AND thoroughly love!!)my .44 mag Vaquero
for almost 10 years, and I must say,in my own opinion,Ruger handguns in general are superbly
and proudly built!!!-my Vaquero .44 mag w/a 7 1/2"
barrel has never failed to fire-EVER!!! I love the 7 1/2" barrel for great accuracy, especially
when I go shooting w/my friend and neighbor and
use some "hand-rolled" .44 Spec that,within 25 yds
can make a decent,fairly-tight "pattern",up against my bud's Kimber .1911 .45ACP!-he was so impressed w/the "open-sight" shot group that he
asked me if he could "borrow" the Ruger and quali-
fy for his CCW "revolver" endorsement!-not only did he qualify easily using .44 Spec factory ammo,
but he grew to love it round after round!!!-now,he
wants it so bad that he asked me to "will" it to him!(he's gonna have to wait quite some time!!!)

I've always wanted a nice,well-built SAA "clone",
and,for the price I paid(about $425.00 NIB),I am a
VERY proud Ruger Vaquero owner, especially when I
saw the price that Colt was wanting(around $850.00
plus!!!) for "resting on it's laurels"-I got to
try out a friend's newer-generation Colt SAA in
.45 Long Colt before I bought my Vaquero, and sadly,I found the Colt lacking perhaps the "quality" it's so famous for!!!(it had a 5 1/2" barrel)...

In closing,I'd heartily recommend the Ruger Vaque-
ro line of "old-West" type SAA's over ANY other
"clone" out there!!-best of all,it's made in the
USA,and quite affordable!!!-I'll be a Ruger fan
for LIFE!!!!!!!!(unlike the "Blackhawk" line,it's
almost impossible and dangerous, due to it's "top-
strap",which isn't as strong as the "flat-top"
style of the "Blackhawk"/"Super Blackhawk"...

Comments about Ruger® Vaquero Handgun:

The tooling is above average, the blued finish is enough, the grip leaves room for elevation changes. Very strong/well built. Overall a tight eight out of ten.
