Product Description
ruger With all the features of the popular SR9 and the award-winning SR9c, the Ruger SR40 is possibly the easiest recoiling, smoother shooting .40 on the market. Though remarkably similar in size to the popular SR9, the SR40's custom slide design reduces recoil and slide velocity, making it more comfortable to shoot than many of its competitors. The unique reversible backstrap allows shooters to quickly customize the size and feel of the grip without the use of separate inserts or special tools. The SR40's high-visibility 3-dot sight system includes a rear sight that is windage and elevation adjustable and a front sight that is windage adjustable. Both the ambidextrous thumb safety and the d-shaped magazine release are easy to reach and actuate. An integral accessory mounting rail provides space for mounting lights, lasers, and other tactical accessories. Every pistol ships with two 15-round, flush-fit magazines, a magazine loader, and a hard plastic case.

      This is my first pistol. I had considered a 9mm but wanted a little more punch. The gun shot well right out of the box--went through 100 rounds with no problems. It feels comfortable in my hand and is easy to disassemble to clean.

        Love this gun! bought it about a year ago, put about 2,000 rounds or so through it, had a few jams, then rembered that with a double stacked magazine you have to tap the rounds in place for good measure. Worked like a charm! Very accurate out of the box. The extra magazine is great as well. I can't say enough good things about this gun! One small con that doesn't affect me cause im a big guy, is the size.. This is not meant for someone with small hands, I'd recommend the SR40c if you have smaller hands. Also since it is a larger gun it can be difficult to conceal at times, however I live in Ohio so it is a great winter carry piece.

            This is my first handgun and I was worried that it would have a lot of kick to it, but was surprised that the kick was not too bad. The trigger pull is easy and even with a full magazine loaded the gun is not very heavy. I have shot about 300 rounds and the gun has shot perfectly. It is very easy to take down and put back together. The slide is kinda hard to pull but the more I use the gun, the easier it gets. All in all, this is a wonderful handgun and I am so glad I chose this gun as my first gun.
