ruger The Ruger SR1911 is a classically styled pistol designed with all of the modern manufacturing advances that you have come to expect from Ruger. Accurate, rugged and reliable, the SR1911 is 100% American-made in American factories with American workers. The original 1911 Series 70 design offers easy takedown and re-assembly. Ruger's precision CNC-controlled machining process results in a superior slide-to-frame fit and smooth slide travel. The stainless steel barrel and bushing are made from the same bar stock, on the same machine, for improved accuracy. The SR1911's oversized ejection port and extended magazine release enhance competition performance. Its lightweight, aluminum, skeletonized trigger features an adjustable over-travel stop and provides a very crisp, no creep, light trigger pull with a quick, positive release, while its skeletonized hammer is lightweight as well and provides faster cycling. The dovetailed, 3-dot sight system features a Novak LoMount Carry rear and a standard front sight that combines optimal target acquisition in an ideal carry configuration. An oversized beavertail grip safety provides positive function and reliability. Extended thumb safety and slide stop lever improve positive manipulation. Visual inspection port allows for visual confirmation that chamber is loaded. Hardwood grips and checkered backstrap. Includes one 7-round magazine, one 8-round magazine, a bushing wrench, and a soft case.

      I have owned multiple 1911's from Colts to cheap imports.

      The SR1911 is the best bang for the buck that I have found.

      Fit and Finish are tight.

      No FT Fire or FT Feed, even with old Remington UMC Flying Ashtrays. And they always seem to jam my other 1911's during the break in process.

      If you like your guns pretty, the rosewood grips that come with the SR1911 look awesome.

      Me, I prefer function, so I have a Hogue Wrap around rubber grip. In my oppinion, this is the perfect addition to a near perfect gun.

        My Ruger SR1911 is my first 1911. I bought this gun just over two weeks ago now. Since then, I have put just over 600 rounds through it. My previous edc/cc guns before this were a CZ75 P-01 and a Springfield XD40 subcompact. I decided to go with a .45acp because I wanted to carry a bigger gun in single action.

        On the range, I have had no problems shooting this. It eats the ammo I've been feeding it so far: a mix of 230gr WWB, Speer and Blazer [all FMJ]. Groups from 25 yards are solid for a combat gun. I shoot on a steel 10-8/EAG silhouette and the report from the hits are nice and loud. The trigger has broken in very nice and it feels really crisp compared to my first day on the range with it.

        Even though it is a 1911, this is my primary carry gun. I use a Galco jacka** shoulder holster for it. Very comfortable despite the weight.

        This is my 3rd Ruger, I also own a 10/22 and a MKIII 22/45. Ruger did an excellent job bringing a great value to the 1911 world.

            This is the best side arm I have added to my collection by far . I use it for hunting and for my concealed weapon. It is a great multi purpose weapon at home or in the woods. Its a great shooter that does not jam with your favorite ammunition. You will never look back after you shoot this gun. One word for this 45cal. AWESOME!!!

                  I own a few handguns and have always wanted a .45 auto. When I set my eyes on this American made beauty, I just knew I had to have it. The stainless steel slide and frame are set off nicely with the smaller black accent pieces and wood grips.

                  The gun shoots very well and operates smoothly. It is nicely balanced and the recoil and barrel jump seems very manageable. My 13 year old son was able to shoot the Ruger and actually preferred it over my .40 Cal. I had absolutely no problems with jams or miss-feeds over the first 800 rounds.
