Known as one of the most advanced single-actions ever produced, the New Model Blackhawk has a reputation as the best value on the market due to its durability and affordability. Unlike the original Blackhawk, the New Model limits firearms accidents by eliminating the need for the hammer to be half-cocked for loading and unloading and employing a transfer bar mechanism which prevents the cartridge under the hammer from being fired without the trigger being pulled. While retaining the solid frame, feel and comfortable grip of the classic single-actions, the New Model Blackhawk features Ruger's patented transfer bar ignition system with loading-gate interlock, an all-coil spring mechanism, adjustable sights, and a frame-mounted firing pin. The Bisley variant of the Blackhawk has a grip that's much more comfortable for handling repeated firings of heavily recoiling loads in a single action revolver than the grips on most Cowboy-style revolvers. This revolver features a ramped front sight with an adjustable rear sight and wooden grips. Its wood, metal, and bore are all in very good condition.
