I didn't buy my LC9 from Gander Mountain, but after reading some of the reviews posted I had to add my 2cents, for whatever its worth.

Like some others I purchased the LC9 and LCP as a his/her combo for the sole purpose of CC. I could not be more impressed with both of this sub-compacts.

Shooting:
I have put over a 1000 rounds through the LC9 (150 rounds of Lawman, 100 rounds Winchester because I was desperate to shoot, and 800+ rounds of Federal – all TMJ). I HAVE NEVER HAD A JAMMED CARTRIDGE. When the weapon is in CC mode I keep it loaded with Federal Hydra Shok's.

This is not a target practice gun, but it is a heck of a lot of fun to shoot and with some practice you can group 7 in 4inch pattern at 21ft as fast as you can pull the trigger. Not a big deal, if you don't practice the weapon you carry, you should not be caring it!

The only PRO/CON (depending on how you look at it) is the long trigger pull. It does take about 100 rounds to lock in the sweet spot. Once locked in, you own it.

Carrying:
The LC9 is a beautifully small weapon and when holstered in the Desantis Tuck It 2 the weapon simple disappears!

Maintenance:
The LC9 is a breeze to maintain. I have purchased a small cleaning kit and have had ZERO issue field stripping and cleaning the weapon. I clean the weapon after every use.

If you purchase the LC9 for what it is intended for then there is absolutely nothing to complain about! It is a remarkable big weapon in a little package. I have been so impressed with the Ruger subcompacts that I am planning on adding the LCR 357 to my subcompact arsenal as my bedside weapon.

I bought this handgun because it was smaller than my Beretta PX4 Storm. I wanted something that was better to conceal and still had stopping power. I am somewhat happy with this gun allthough it took some 500 to 600 rounds to break in. I have discovered that this gun likes full metal jacket bulletts better than hollow points. Seems that the hollow points have trouble making it out of the clip and up the slide into the barrel without hanging. I prefer carrying the hollow points. I'm not sure if I would recomend this hand gun to a friend or not.

      Comments about Ruger® LC9™ Handgun:

Cons: Long trigger, 7 round clip, accuracy, no accessories at all in the box.

Pros: Design, quality feel, no imprinting for conceal, Price, 9MM.

Things didn't start off well with a dud right out of the box. The gun would jam about 2 rounds per clip (extractor issues). I did return it to GM to send back to Ruger. Its been over 2 weeks now and still no word? I am guessing the gun will be solid once fixed and aligned. If I had the chance to return it I would and pick up the Springfield XDs. Bottom line, do your research...

      Comments about Ruger® LC9™ Handgun:

Well built... of course, it's a Ruger. Also, the rounded contours and ergonomics made me choose this as my concealed carry pistol. Very easy to carry, and nothing to snag or impede re-holstering. As many have commented, the length of travel on the trigger pull does necessitate a lot of practice. However, there are beginning to be some aftermarket fixes that tame that. My biggest concern was the grip. When shooting, I couldn't overcome the feeling that the pistol was going to jump out of my hand (broad hands, short fingers). The addition of a grip glove has fixed this, providing me a much more positive feel. Overall, very happy with the purchase.

hundreds of rounds of different brands and not one problem. Practice at indoor range with this and my 22 SW. The Ruger is my personal protection weapon of choice. Can carry in jean pocket with no problem. Sold my 45 and 380 and bought this and glad I did.
