Comments about Ruger American Rifle Centerfire Rifle:
After months of looking we finally had the money to buy a new hunting rifle (thanks to my wife working overtime)... My wife and I have been looking since before December at various rifles. I had decided on a savage... BUT! when the day came we checked out this Ruger.... it felt right and the bolt action was so smooth..I liked the detachable magazine. I checked out a Remington 700 but didnt like the top loading and no magazine. I thought in the cold the Remington might be fiddly to reload and I know i would clatter the scope putting cartridges in... we bought a Nikon BDC scope too... Very nice and crystal clear and the spot on software is "spot on" too and easy to use... All in all I really like this rifle its easy to clean easy to use !!

Comments about Ruger American Rifle Centerfire Rifle:
My wife has been working very hard and finally we had the money to buy a Hunting rifle. We both went to Gander in Ocala. We held everything from Browning, Mossberg, Savage, Remington.. every single 270 they had. I really liked the Savage... But they didn't have one.. So we asked about others.. We hadn't seen the Ruger.. And the associate handed one to us.. It felt just right not ok but it felt really comfortable. The bolt action was far better than the others.. very smooth and precise. I had the others again but went back to this one.. I did have a budget although my wife said i could spend more I couldn't see the need to as this gun felt right... I paired it with a Nikon BDC prostaff. An I picked it up this morning ... It is even better than i though .. It looks good and feels even better with that scope on the top...

Comments about Ruger American Rifle Centerfire Rifle:
Fantastic Rifle. Extremely lightweight and very easy to assemble/dissemble. Extremely accurate long range and not too much kick for the .270. Would very much so recommend!

Comments about Ruger American Rifle Centerfire Rifle:
I bought this rifle after seeing a few reviews and actually holding the rifle to see how it felt shouldered. This is a great rifle! I put a Redfield Revenge 3X9x42 scope on the rifle. Bore sighted and went to the range. On paper the first shot. 12 Rounds later, Sub 1/2 inch groups at 100yds! The trigger from the factory is great! No creep, just a clean break! For the price, this is a very acurate rifle! I used Rem Core Loct 30-06 150gr. Its up there with my Win Mod 70 which costs considerably more! The fit and finish of the rifle is first rate! It is light and easy to carry in the woods. I didn't find the recoil bad at all. The butt pad soaks up alot of recoil. Ruger did a good job with this!
I like the tough and sturdy design of the bolt and recevier and the stock design is very comfortable when shouldered.
If your looking for a "lower priced" rifle with EXCELLENT acuracy, great ergonomics and durable design, look no farther than the Ruger American

Comments about Ruger American Rifle Centerfire Rifle:
I bought one of these when they first came out in 270. I didn't know what to expect because of it being brand new and there being basically zero reviews available for it but for the price I figured what the heck it will be a good back up rifle for elk and deer hunting. Recoil is pretty stout because of light weight but this gun holds .75 inch groups at 100 yards with cheapo federal ammo that I will use to hunt with. I was supremely impressed with the quiality and assembly. All the new features on this rifle make a nice light package that has now become my favorite gun I plan to use for my main gun and my $1200 rifle will be the backup. Just beware your shooting a very light gun so its a dream to carry but the recoil is more equal to a 7mm mag then a 270 because of the weight of the rifle.
